With this being our last week doing a blog post we thought we would share our accomplishments and failures. During our whole process we had a lot of good ideas on how to raise money for the elephants but none of them worked till we finally did the coin draft. When we made posters and hung them up in our classrooms we realized teenagers are not going to donate money to an actually charity they would rather spend the money on food, clothes, or anything else that is for them.

After two weeks of starting the coin draft Kristina and I finally counted our money. The total came out to be $43.50. This is a good amount of money considering all of our other plans did not work out. Now we can not wait to actually donate the money and help the elephants.
Kristina and I are both actually starting to get money in our coin drafts. We both have about ten dollars saved. WE are getting closer to actually having enough money to benefit the elephants.
We decided to start a coin draft. A coin draft is where you put a jar or something in your house and your family members put loose change in it. Our goal is to hope we get enough money from our family members to help the elephants.
This week in class Kristina and I decided we were going to make the jars for our project. Kristina brought in the mason jars. We asked Mr.Barker if we could use some paper. Our plan was to draw elephants and then glue them onto the jars so that we could make them look like elephants. We want kids to donate money into the jars because they would be saving elephants and it would be a little easier than the go fund me.
Kristina and I are planning on making jars to for people to put money in. We think this will be a better idea because if people have money on them it would be easier to make money. We want to see if we can place some jars in the cafeteria especially where people buy their food. We think it would be a good idea because if people have left over money then they can just donate to us.
This week Kristina and I have decided to change our goal for how much money we want to raise. We think that the price of $50 is too much because we have not raised any money. Kristina and I have thought that it would be better to drop the price down to $25. We decided to do a fundraiser instead of a Go Fund me page so we could have a better chance of raising more money.
This week Kristina and I printed some posters off. We decided it would be best to start hanging them up around our classrooms so we asked our teachers if we could. A lot of them asked what it was for and when we explained it they were okay with us hanging them up.
We put one in Mr. Barker's class under the QR code for smart lunch so it would be easy for people to look at our website at the same time. Mrs. Kenney agreed to hang one up on her board in her classroom. Mr. Ham put his poster on his white board in the front of the class so people could see it. Next week we will be working more on our fundraiser. It has not had a lot of donations yet because we have not had any advertisement's for it. We are hoping that our posters will get people to start donating. This week Kristina and I made a poster in class. The poster has our QR codes on it so that people can get to our website easily. We made the poster so that you could tell it was for the elephants.
Our posters have two QR codes one is for the website and the other is for the go fund me. We have which QR code it is underneath it so people can click on which ever one they want to. We thought it would be a good idea to put them on there so people would not have to ask about it. The next week we be printing the posters off and hanging them up. The more posters that we hang up the more people will start helping with our foundation. Next week we will be doing more with our projects. This week Kristina and I have been working on posters to hang up around the school. While we were making them we thought it would be a good idea to make a QR code on them. We thought it would be easier so if someone did not know who they were they could still look at our website and out go fund me page.
We are in the process of making our go fund me page. Our goal is to get at least 75 dollars but if we got more that would be amazing. We plan on donation all the money to a really good organization that will help the elephants that are endangered. Next week we plan on hanging up the posters in our classrooms. We will also ask if we can hang them up in the hallways and the library so it will be more public. We are also hoping that people will start donating money to our go fund me page. |
